What Class A means
Virginia licenses contractors in three classes, by the size of the work they're allowed to take on. Class A is the highest — no ceiling on project value — and it takes documented experience, financial standing, and a state exam to hold. It's the license you'd want to see before handing anyone a six-figure job.
