This is the website of Alford Construction Group Inc., a general contractor in Boston, Virginia. This page says what the site collects, who handles it, and how to ask us about it.
The contact form
If you send the contact form, we receive what you type: your name, a phone number or an email address (we need at least one to reply), and anything else you add — where the project is, the type of work, and your description of it.
We use it to get back to you about your project. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone except the companies named on this page, who handle it only to run this site for us.
The website and the system behind the form are built and run for us by Holler Software LLC. Your message is saved as a record in a database Holler Software operates (hosted with Amazon Web Services and Neon), and a copy is emailed to our business inbox through Amazon's email service. Holler Software can access those records in order to run and maintain the system.
The contact page runs a bot check from Cloudflare, called Turnstile. It loads when you open the contact page, and Cloudflare receives your IP address and technical details about your browser so it can tell people from automated programs. When you send the form, our server passes your IP address to Cloudflare to confirm the check, and uses it for a short time to limit how many messages one connection can send. Your IP address is not saved with your message.
Counting visits
We count visits so we can see which pages get read and how people find us. The counting is done with PostHog, an analytics service hosted in the United States, through an account Holler Software LLC runs for the websites it hosts.
It records each page view, each click on a phone or email link (and where on the page that link was), and whether a contact form was sent or failed to send. It does not record who you called, what you wrote, or anything you typed into the form.
With each of those, PostHog also receives the address of the page you were on — just the page itself, with nothing after a “?” or “#” — a label if that visit came from an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Perplexity, your browser, device type, and operating system, your screen size, language, and time zone, and a random ID that lasts only until you reload or leave the site. Like any web request, this arrives from your IP address, which PostHog may use to estimate your general location.
The counting does not set cookies or save anything in your browser, does not record your screen, and is not tied to your name or to anything you send through the contact form. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the counting does not run at all.
We do not sell this information or share it with anyone except the companies named on this page. None of it identifies you by name.
Hosting
The site is served by Vercel, and the server behind the contact form runs on Amazon Web Services. Like any web host, both keep technical logs of requests, which include IP addresses.
How long we keep it
We have not set a fixed schedule for deleting contact-form messages. They stay in the system and in our email until we delete them. Ask, and we will delete yours.
Children
This site is for adults planning building work. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Questions, corrections, or deletion
Call (703) 928-7153 or email scottalford@alfordconstructiongroupinc.com to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted.
If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
